Kristyna Litten

Kristyna graduated from Edinburgh College of Art and now lives in a beautiful village in Yorkshire. Her illustrations are full of energy, created with expressive, fast-paced line work, and brought to life with digital colour and texture. Always experimenting, Kristyna enjoys exploring new mark-making techniques across a variety of media, including textiles and ceramics.

Her work is instantly recognisable thanks to a sophisticated colour palette, a flair for fashion, and distinctive hand-drawn typography. From quirky character designs crafted with upholstery fabric and buttons for DFS TV commercials, to illustrating Gucci’s children’s fashion catalogue, Kristyna brings originality and creative spark to every project.

Surrounded by Eastern European storybooks as a child, she draws inspiration from illustrators like Josef Šašek and Marc Boutavant. Her long-held dream to write and illustrate her own children’s books came true shortly after graduating, with the publication of Chickens Can’t See in the Dark. Since then, she has created an impressive list of author-illustrated titles, including the heartwarming Ori’s Stars, and her globe-trotting non-fiction debut Around the World in 80 Dogs.

Most recently, Kristyna has both written and illustrated Ivy and Bearlock Holmes: The Case of the Missing Flower – the first in a delightful mystery series published by Magic Cat, blending facts with fiction.
