Huge congratulations Adam!!
We couldn’t be prouder of Adam Stower who has been crowned the 2025 winner of the prestigious German Children’s Book Prize for Murray and Bun, Murray the Viking aka Muffin und Tört bei den Wikingern published in Germany by Planet.
After a long journey all the way from Brighton in the UK to Hamburg in Germany (and a frantic night learning to read an extract from the book in German), followed by a train journey to Rostock-Laage where the ceremony took place. Adam arrived for the ceremony at a converted airport base. With an excited children's jury eager to meet Adam and the other amazing nominees. Adam described the event as a whirlwind experience and his utter disbelief and joy at winning the overall prize.
Here are some lovely snaps from the day!
Sending Adam HUGE congratulations and thanks to Frank Woelffing for the official photograph above and to Zoe Tucker for the rest. Also thanks to Katharina Ebinger from Thienemann pictured above with Adam, for the German lessons and looking after Adam so well.
Congratulations and thanks to all involved including the amazing fellow nominees and brilliant readers.
