Levi Pinfold is on the Yoto Carnegie Shortlist this year for his outstanding illustrations in The Worlds We Leave Behind by A. F. Harrold

Levi is no stranger to this prestigious award. In 2020 he was shortlisted for his illustrations for The Dam a picture book written by David Almond.

He won the Amnesty Honour for his illustration work on A Song From Somewhere Else in 2018 his first collaboration with A. F. Harrold.

And in 2013 he won this award, then named in honour of Kate Greenaway for his classic book Black Dog which he wrote and illustrated.

Huge congratulations to Levi for getting this far. The chair of judges Janet Noble said,

"...what a fantastic addition THE WORLDS WE LEAVE BEHIND makes to this year's Yoto Carnegie Medal for illustration shortlist. The mesmerising images help to bring the story, characters and setting to life and mean they continue to haunt readers long after the book is finished. A perfect synergy of text and illustration lures readers into an unsettling other-wordly story."

The awards are held in London in June.
