Alex T Smith’s wonderful illustrations adorn Egmont‘s sumptuous new 60th anniversary edition of the Dodie Smith beloved classic, The Hundred and One Dalmations. As those who follow Alex on twitter will know, he’s often tweeted about how much he loves the book and we all know how much he loves drawing dogs of all kinds – so this was his dream job.

Alex said: “… to be asked to reimagine it for a new generation of readers is an incredible honour. I can’t wait for everyone to meet Cruella again – and hopefully go dotty over all those puppies!”

Egmont’s publishing director Melissa Fairley said: “Children and adults alike will adore his extremely opulent, yet sinister portrayal of Cruella de Vil; contrasted beautifully with his loveable and mischievous Dalmatian puppies.”

We have to agree, Alex’s interpretation of this enduring classic will enchant and delight readers – a perfect Christmas gift if you can wait that long to open it! You can see more of Alex’s illustrations from the book here.
