Adam Stower joins forces with David Walliams for another World’s Worst!

We can hardly believe that The World’s Worst Superheroes is the 8th book in David Walliams' ‘World’s Worst’ series and this edition is just as, if not even more glorious than ever. Award-winning illustrator Adam Stower’s wonderful artwork has become synonymous with this series and the work of David’s other best-selling books, including his incredibly popular picture books.

As you open the gilded cover featuring some of this book's most famous and infamous characters you are greeted by magnificent endpapers, giving the reader a tantalising sneak peek at how these adventures unfold, with an introduction by Superhero Dave himself.

Get ready to adjust your superhero underpants David Walliams and Adam Stower have created yet another out of this world adventure. This is Adam, here on the right at his favourite bookshop with Super Dave launching the book, Adam forgot his cape that day!

Each page features a bewildering number of full colour illustrations, leaping, whizzing and weaving their way through David’s funny text. It is almost incomprehensible to imagine the hard work and dedication to his craft it takes for Adam to create so many beautifully constructed pieces, but the utter joy they bring to this reading experience can’t be underestimated.

From a rotund monarch to a robotic hound and of course an incredible sprout, readers will be utterly beguiled as they disappear into this fabulously funny collection of ten utterly bonkers tales.

How does Adam come up with the illustrations? Well he is usually one of the first people to read the new stories, then he has the onerous task of creating the character designs, reading carefully through the manuscript and picking out the funniest things to draw. This is an example of what he comes up with - you can see more on Adam's portfolio.

"I was thrilled when I was told that this latest collection was going to be the World's Worst Superheroes! There are Superheroes and Supervillains galore in these hilarious stories. They are endlessly creative and so fun to illustrate. There are always characters and escapades in David Walliams' books that I have never drawn before in all the years I've been illustrating, which makes these books so exciting to work on. I hope the readers love them too."
