Spike lives in North London with partner Kaz, and their children, Ethan and Stevie Jasmine. Most of his spare time is spent with his kids, building tree houses and ice-skating.
Since graduating from St. Martins in the late 80’s, Spike has been supplying his “spiky nosed” illustrations to a host of clients. Through a diverse range of briefs his cast of genetically challenged humanoids, Heath Robinson-style machines, and a menagerie of animals have naturally evolved.
He has always thrived on long standing regular slots and series of illustrations, current gigs include; a Guardian Sport column and illustrations for Occupational Health at Work for which he writes and draws the 'From the Vaults' cartoon strip.
This firm grounding in quick turn-around editorial work, with ridiculously short deadlines has ensured that Spike's work has stayed minty fresh.
