Fred Gambino has had a long successful career as an illustrator and concept art designer. His main love is the Science Fiction and Fantasy genres where his stunning visual worlds can come to life through his vivid imagination. He creates concepts both for the big screen and billboards in photoshop, he is also able to work with 3D technology and animation and has created the Alienology interactive space station app.
Fred studied at Derby and has worked as a freelance illustrator for the major UK & US publishers. In 2001 he worked as concept artist and matte painter for Oscar nominated Jimmy Neutron Boy Genius This was followed by visual development work for Project X for Tinopolis TV and Lego, then more film concept work for The Ant Bully, C-Horse and The Star Beast. Fred has also worked as a matte painter on The Tale of Desperaux in London and continues to work on film concepts, which is a great passion for him.
He has a retrospective book of his artwork published by Paper Tiger called Ground Zero and his work formed a large part of the exhibition design for the British Library's Out Of This World exhibition.
